About
My passion for research began during several outstanding internships I completed as an undergraduate student in Grenoble. After earning my Master’s degree at ENS Lyon, which included two semesters of research internships, I pursued a PhD at the IGBMC near Strasbourg. There, I showed that different mutations in the MED12 subunit of the Mediator complex cause specific defects in gene expression regulation.
I joined Ambra’s team in November 2015 as a post-doctoral researcher. I identified TFIIH as a marker of transcriptional activity and uncovered the role of XAB2 in DNA damage recognition during transcription-coupled repair. I’m now exploring how the SMN protein contributes to nucleolar reorganization after genotoxic stress.
To make my colleagues’ lives easier, I create ImageJ macros to quantify specific fluorescence signals automatically.
Outside of research, I love playing the trumpet. I used to be in an orchestra, but these days I only play in a marching band with my partner and kids. I also enjoy hands-on activities like baking pastries, decorating windows, doing cross-stitch, or tackling complex puzzles.
