Description

Rémi Mounier, a biology researcher in the Stem Cell Environment and Skeletal Muscle Homeostasis team, is a 2018 CNRS Bronze Medal laureate.

Reading Haruki Murakami’s What I Talk About When I Talk About Running confirmed what he thought about the work of a researcher. In this book, the Japanese author describes how running helps him cultivate patience, perseverance and other qualities required of a novelist, such as tenacity and the ability to concentrate. In short, running becomes a metaphor for his work as a writer. The parallel with research work feels relevant, especially in managing failure and in the ability to practice an individual activity collectively.
