About
My name is Candice and I am from Savoie. I have always been passionate about science, which is why I decided to make it my career. I first completed a bachelor’s degree in Biology in Grenoble, then pursued a master’s degree specializing in genetic diseases in Lyon.
I joined the MARI team at the beginning of 2024 as a research assistant, where I started working on the FUS protein and using the BioID technique. The team’s dynamism and the research topic inspired me to go further, so I decided to begin a PhD to deepen my research and knowledge. In addition to my main project, I have integrated super-resolution microscopy approaches (STED), a field in which I am becoming increasingly interested. Another part of my work focuses on setting up iPSC differentiation into motor neurons to study the absence of certain proteins involved in neurodegenerative diseases such as SMA and ALS.
Outside the lab, I enjoy walking in the forest, especially on beautiful autumn days, but also in winter under the snow. I am also passionate about reading, particularly mystery and suspense novels. And finally… food! I love cooking and preparing tasty savory dishes — but you probably shouldn’t ask me to make dessert, as sweet recipes are definitely not my specialty.
